Welcome to our counseling practice, where we specialize in helping kids, children, and teens navigate the challenges of growing up. We understand that adolescence can be a difficult time, and our team of experienced counselors is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where young people can explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Our approach is client-centered, meaning we prioritize the unique needs and goals of each individual we work with. We believe that by building strong relationships with our clients and using evidence-based interventions, we can help them overcome obstacles, build resilience, and develop the skills they need to thrive. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, or simply needs support as they navigate the ups and downs of life, we are here to help.

Our Values
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is an essential part of any clinical relationship. All aspects of your participation in therapy at Piney Woods Counseling, including the scheduling of appointments, content of counseling sessions, and any records that we keep, are confidential as outlined by law and current ethics. Confidentiality and it's limits will be discussed in the initial session.
Creativity
Each person has their own unique story and struggles. Therapy needs to be dynamic and ever evolving. It should be tailored for each person to find the best way to work for them.
Compassion
Compassion is part of our everyday experience of being human. Compassion has something to do with what it means to lead a good life. It gives us the ability to understand someone else's situation and the desire to take action to improve their lives. It is the quality that allows us to step outside of ourselves and see the circumstances of others.
Acceptance
Through acceptance, we learn to open up and make room for painful feelings, sensations and emotions. We learn to drop the struggle we have with them, give them room to breathe and allow them to be as they are, instead of fighting and denying them – basically, we learn to let them be. This allows our inner thoughts, feelings and urges to come and go, without a struggle.
